  Our favourite Paraguayans Lopez are gearing themselves for the release of their brand new EP titled Zapping. It's a five-track journey with one foot back in the synth-based 80s boogie sound and the other firmly in the present. If you loved Jellybean (which received love from such luminaries as High Contrast), then Zapping will hit all the right notes.   Our latest podcast comes once more from the heady lair that is Jus Jules' studio. Dropping the tempo, he takes us on a lilting tour from ambient balearica through acid drenched punky house stopping en route for unexpected excursions into Americana via the new folk vocals of Samuel Beam and the souks of Egypt with some soulful Arabic sounds, all mixed live in one take. It's not about the destination, it's about the journey.

  Always abreast of the musical winds of change and the speed with which London's vibrant musical umbrella mutates we were one of the first to unleash on the net a mix of what is now referred to as UK funky. As London producers move the sound forward Jus Jules felt it was time to revisit and have a more all encompassing look at the genre and see where it came from and perhaps where it could go. As well as being Londoncentric with the usual suspects Crazy Cousinz, Roska, Fuzzy Logik & Cooly G this mix also tries to look at the global picture with beats & influences from France, America, Jamaica, Zimbabwe & South America.   It's not often that we at Keep Up! get the chance to proclaim our love for UK Garage out loud but as this once ubiquitous sound rears its head again we felt it was time to let this love loose. So here is the first and perhaps only instalment of a garage mix lovingly selected from the vinyl vaults by the man like Jus' Jules. From the pure garridge sounds of Confetti records through to the rolling breakstep of Menta and on to Wookie's RnG it's a real rollercoaster of a ride that sounds as much fun to mix as it is to listen to.
