Keep Up!

Following an excellent (and early) start to the New Year, Keep Up! return to The Social for the second of their New Perspectives nights. Joining us on our adventures this month will be Rinse FM resident and acclaimed DJ of the moment, Alexander Nut. If you've managed to catch his Mixed Nuts radio show, Saturdays 1pm till 3 on Rinse FM, you'll know that his broad spectrum of musical interests spans a worldwide family of the latest and greatest new era hip hop, post funk and soul (plus everything in between). Infact, his selection skills go so far that Phonica Records (one of London's leading record shops) named his Rinse:08 mix cd their 5th favourite release of 2009, placing it above an incredible range of global talents. When he's not expanding minds and making Animal Collective cry, Mr Nut is expanding opportunities for up and coming artists, through his Eglo record label. Formed with friend, Sam Sheperd (aka Keep Up!'s favourite artist of 2009, Floating Points), Eglo boasts a diverse line up including Fatima (who guested on Shafiq Husayn's, sublime Lil' Girl), FunkinEven and new signing Shuanise (who's new track Kingdom got an excellent early doors response last month). And finally you can find him at long standing bench mark of excellence FWD at Plastic People. If that wasn't enough, the New Perspective regulars will be there, and we'll be dropping some exclusive new material, including the first play of Keep Up! 006, and a hot off the press Architeq remix of new Keep Up! signing BBG.
